Immigration and Voting Patterns in the European Union: Evidence from Five Case Studies and Cross-Country Analysis

Tempers flared in Europe response to the 2015 European Refugee Crisis prompting some countries totally close their borders asylum seekers. (2019) increased parties. To provide more this unsettled debate empirical literature, we use data from over 400 systematically select cases individual countries. We augment cross-country quantitative study. Our analysis finds little immigrant populations are related changes voting right. finding gives factors other than true cause rises voting.
